Best Places to shop in Bangkok Thailand

Bangkok has a lot of places for shopping. Markets and shopping malls are all over the city. Outdoor-markets usually offers the cheapest prices in town but the quality can never be compared to what the shopping malls has to offer.

Rama I road, Ploenchit road, Ratchadamri road, Siam Square area
This place is located east from the top of Sukhumvit road. This is a shopping district that is modern and fashionable. They have several numbers of large shopping centers. Shopping centers includes the 8-storey World Trade Center. Inside the World Trade Center, there are Zen and Isetan department stores, Central Chidlom department store, a branch of Bangkok largest chain of department stores, Tokyu department store, Sogo, Narayana Phand store for Thai handicrafts, and the expensive and very upmarket Gaysorn Plaza, Peninsula Plaza, Promenda Decor and Amarin Plaza.

Siam square is another large modern shopping area in Bangkok. They have a collection of cheap to mid-price fashionable clothes shops, a lot of which cater to teenagers. Aside from the mentioned shops, they also have bookshops, Internet cafes, fast food restaurants and more.

Silom road, Surawong road, Rama IV road
This area is the main business and commercial district of Bangkok. Patpong night market is popular to many of the tourist but is overpriced and crowded. Silom Complex department store can also be seen in this area. Robinson’s Department Store is also here. You can also see here the Charn Issara tower, the upscale Thaniya Plaza shopping center and many very good silk, antique, and clothes shops.

Small shops that are selling antiques and traditional handicrafts are present in Silom Village, near soi 24. Their prices are a bit expensive compared to others.
